Working with David and Gabriel (co-founders and chairs) to ensure smooth communications and engagement with a group of 40+ members, mostly shrimp producers from Asia and Latin America. Developing proposals that reflect different opinions in the board and get support from a majority of GSC members.

Klaas Puul is the Dutch importer and processor supplying Albert Heijn supermarkets (Ahold Delhaize) with most of its tropical shrimp. Albert Heijn wants to have the most sustainable shrimp in the Netherlands. I helped develop a proposition and a consortium with partners such as Cofimar, Skretting, Protix, and Veramaris to produce and supply this shrimp from South America. 

I am a co-founder, board member, and managing director of the Global Shrimp Forum (GSF). GSF combines my passion for hospitality and driving change in the shrimp industry. It's an honor to host the leadership of the shrimp industry every year.

In this project, David Kawahigashi and I studied the rate of use of eyestalk ablation as a practice in hatcheries in Asia and Latin America. We then looked at the perceived consequences of not using eyestalk ablation in each region and, based on that, provided recommendations about handling this topic in ASC's shrimp farm standard. 

GalaxEye is an Indian space tech start-up that has developed a satellite-based shrimp production tracking product. With its Track product, the company monitors all shrimp ponds in India, knows the days of culture, and estimates the size of shrimp in the ponds—a true value to the industry. I have supported the team in developing use cases and making the right connections in the industry.

Monterey Bay Aquarium is investing in ongoing improvement efforts to address key barriers to sustainable shrimp production in India through the application of its Partnership Assurance Model (PDF) and Verification Platform. The aim is to increase availability of Seafood Watch yellow and green rated shrimp from India.
