India started 2025 with a 3% year-on-year drop in exports. The drop in export volume was entirely accounted for by raw L.vannamei. Exports of raw P. monodon were flat, while exports of value-added products increased. Exports to China almost halved yearly, while exports to the US and especially the EU increased significantly. While the export volume dropped, the export value increased by 9% year over year. Average prices per kg declined by 2-3% from December 2024, but for the US (12%) and China (23%), they are significantly above average prices in January 2024.
