Indonesia's L. Vannamei Exports Experience Weak Start in Q1 2023

Indonesia's L. vannamei exports in Q1 2023 reached 45,342 MT only. This is below the export volume of Q1 in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Compared to Q1 2022, exports even dropped by 23% year-on-year. Exports were especially low in January 2023, 36% below January 2022. Although less significant, also exports in February and March dropped year-on-year with a decline of 12% and 16% respectively. We will have to wait to see whether Indonesia's exports will catch up when Ramadhan ends by the 21st of April 2023.
