EU October Imports Increase 6% YoY. Year-Total Now 5% Ahead of 2023.

In October, the EU’s shrimp imports (HS030617+HS16021/29) reached 54,074 MT, almost flat compared to September 2024 but up 6% year-over-year. The year total has now reached 453,346 MT, up 5% year-over-year and only 1% less than in 2022, when the EU imported a record volume of shrimp. If this month's trend continues towards the end of the year, the EU will import 555,000 MT of shrimp, at par with the record of 2022.
